Maria Lourdes Aragon, 10 year-old Pinay is the newest YouTube Singing Sensation. Her cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" made her runaway-sensation after making more than five million hits in three days after it was posted.
She was born and raised by Filipino parents who migrated in Canada. Her musical influences are Jessie J, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Yiruma, Michael Giacchino and of course Lady GaGa. She also love Michael Jackson so much.
Lady Gaga expressed her emotions towards watching her video on YouTube. She tweeted, "Can't stop crying watching this, This is why I make music. She's the future." Later, Ellen DeGeneres re-tweeted the video.
A radio station in Winnipeg, Canada pulled out Grade-5-student Maria from Isaac Brook School for an on-air interview and to hear her sing live. Surprisingly, Lady Gaga talked from the other line, little Maria was shocked and speechless, She was overjoyed in tears. Lady Gaga was expressing her gratitude over her, she was at her bad day when Perez Hilton showed her video and after watching it she was overjoyed and reminded her why she wrote 'Born this Way'.
Lady Gaga then invited little Maria to perform with her on stage in Toronto on March. Maria said, "That would be cool!" while in tears. Lady Gaga insisted that they need to do a duet.
Aside from singing, she also like to paint and draw. She is interested in writing stories about life.
